Its Monday and a cold misty rain enshrouds the City like a... well, like a cold misty rain. Blech. Had a big hot breakfast at Eddie's down the street to fortify myself in order to better bear my day. Oh its all copacetic enough, especially after another nice weekend with more temperate weather than we've seen in awhile here (except for last night).
Sold my old acoustic guitar yesterday and tomorrow I head back up to Sonoma to retrieve yet more stuff to sell, including the remote controls for the stereo equipment I schlepped down last weekend when my Dad was here visiting. Craigslist rules! FYI, I had sushi last night at the Jimisan Sushi Bistro right across the street from Craigslist.org world headquarters, which looks just like Craigslist - its a plain text building with a plain text sign.
Spent the entire afternoon and early evening hanging out with my buddy Jeff and hiking around Golden Gate Park. Very nice!
During our lunch at the amazingly tasty and cheap Tu Lan Vietnamese restaurant, my friend Greta turned out to be the latest in a long string of folks who've suggested that I look into doing voice-over and radio announcing, due to my deep bellowing and booming voice. Maybe in Thailand!
By the way, Greta recently turned me on to a fantastic band called The High Llamas, who happen to also do musical painting. Greta is, no doubt, a major connoisseur and wrote of the High Llamas in her list of "Top Tokin' Tunes", saying:
"If elevator music sat on the beach and smoked a joint, it would turn into this - one long seamless floaty dream of mellow, trippy sound, with no percussive or jarring intrusions... Ideal listening scenario: two a.m. in a trailer strung with colored Christmas lights."
She does have a way with words. Check out the blog for her soon to be complete recipe book, "The Reality Kitchen".
